- Writing proficiency, the development of writing skills, critical analyses of selected readings, vocabulary enrichment and oral presentations are emphasized.

Mathematics - A pretest is administered to determine appropriate
course levels of instruction and tutoring.

Integrated lecture and laboratory topics include scientific methods,
observations.

Computer Literacy
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and internet skills, using Microsoft Windows operating
system, allows the successful participant to meet most computer efficiency requirements.

Learning Strategies
- Discussions on note taking, inductive reasoning, test-taking and study skills and time management.

Program Evaluation
- Students are pre-tested and post tested in vocabulary mastery, mathematics and science. Individual progress is monitored by
written and oral examinations and assignments.
The results of pre-and-post test are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the program. Participants evaluate each course component and the overall program experience.
